Instructors

Peaceful Storm Dojo has two Instructors:

Nathan Himes
Head Instructor
Robert Himes
Dojo Cho

Robert is a retired Fort Worth Police Officer who focuses heavily on Practical Application in self defense, often training Cadets for the Weatherford College Law Enforcement Academy in defensive tactics and arrest techniques. His Aikido style is very “to the point” and based on effectiveness in any situation.

Robert  holds the rank of Rokudan (6th degree) in Tomiki Ryu Aikido  – Kaze Uta Budo Kai

Nathan focuses more on soft touch and control using less energy to achieve maximum results. His Aikido style is aimed at undermining the body’s natural responses by not allowing the opponent’s system to regain control of their balance through minimal pressure and by reducing information the opponent is able to receive due to light touch.

Check out Nathan’s blog at Peaceful Storm Aikido.

Nathan holds the rank of Rokudan (6th degree) in Tomiki Ryu Aikido  – Kaze Uta Budo Kai

These two different styles allow our students to get the best of both worlds in their training, for effective self defense, while furthering their art to achieve a more peaceful approach to situations and have more self confidence.
